The DMSC Board of Directors is pleased to announce an expansion of our leadership team to support our continued growth and increased member engagement. The responsibilities of the Executive Director role will now be shared between two positions: Administrative Director and Marketing & Membership Director.

We are pleased to share that Mark Thomas will continue to serve as Administrative Director, while retaining the external title of Executive Director. Mark will continue to support governance, operations, and standards activities.

We also welcome Alana Duma as Marketing & Membership Director. Alana will lead outreach, communications, and membership growth initiatives in collaboration with Mark and the Board.

This structure increases our director-level capacity, strengthening support for member services, standards development, and industry engagement.

We look forward to the continued growth and momentum of the DMSC community.

As the new Marketing & Membership Director, Alana has over a decade of experience in engineering and simulation, and has built a career around strong relationship building, global collaboration, and technology-driven problem solving. Alana’s expertise spans technical sales, vendor relations, and strategic marketing—particularly within the automotive and manufacturing sectors.

Over the years, she has worked with international partners and vendors across North America, Europe, and Asia – supporting cross-border business initiatives and building strong, trust-based relationships across diverse business cultures. Her background includes leading hundreds of tradeshows, user meetings, and technical events, with a proven track record in lead generation, campaign strategy, and customer enablement.

With a solid understanding of complex engineering systems, Alana brings a unique ability to connect technical capability with real-world customer needs. I’m passionate about supporting engineering teams – whether through education, collaboration, or strategic partnerships—and thrive on creating meaningful connections that drive innovation and long-term business growth.

Welcome to DMSC, Alana!
