DESCRIPTION:Non-Contact Measurement Working Group\n(NCM WG)\nThis new Working Group is being formed now\, building on a formal request by the International Standardization Committee for Digital Manufacturing Innovation\, Japan. A new Working Group charter is being developed under the leadership of our DMSC Board Directors. \nNCM WG Chair: Larry Bergquist\, formerly of Deere & Company / DMSC Member\nNCM WG Co-Chair: Ray Stahl\, formerly of Kotem/QVI\, now 2BMobile / DMSC BOD \nA formal charter will be completed over the next few months. Current participants include multiple DMSC members and industrial/academia from the National Metrology Institute of Japan. DESCRIPTION:April 27\, 2021 @ 11am ET\nWhat is QIF: Where did it come from and where is it heading?\nPresented by Jennifer Herron (CEO\, Action Engineering)\nRecorded Presentation: watch now\n\nJennifer Herron\, DMSC BoD\, presents What is QIF 3.0\, an ANSI and ISO-approved standard enabling interoperability between Model-Based Definition (MBD)\, the digital intent\, and 3D metrology inspection process measured results. \nOn November 9th\, 2018\, the ISO / TC 184 / SC 4 meeting in Chicago\, Illinois (USA)\, approved by “Unanimous Consent” and was sent to Resolution M – Submission of Quality Information Framework (QIF) for Fast Track Ballot. In July 2020\, ISO approved and entirely harvested the ANSI/DMSC QIF v3.0 standard\, changing only the cover-sheet\, copyright\, headers\, and footers. The ISO ballot includes an Explanatory report for harvesting QIF 3.0 into the ISO TC184 / SC4 Working Group 15 on Digital Manufacturing. It includes a mapping of entities found between STEP-AP 242 and QIF. The QIF website provides a free download of the schema and normative document.
