DESCRIPTION:Following the inaugural meeting of the QIF Training & Certification Working Group on June 27th\, 2023\, the DMSC is pleased to announce the official formation of this new QIF Training & Certification Working Group (WG) for the purpose of initiating a new formalized QIF Training and Certification program. \nWorking Group Chair: Jesse Zahner\, Sigmetrix\nWorking Group Vice-Chair: Mark Thomas\, DMSC \nWorking Group Charter as of July 11\, 2023:\nTo develop a comprehensive QIF training program that may include certification (by DMSC) after completion. The initial effort defined in the new Charter should be considered “Phase 1”\, as this is a very substantial task that will offer QIF Basic training to start\, and could expand further if there is market demand. \nWorking Group Goal:\nDevelop a QIF technical training curriculum. \nMeeting Cadence:\nVirtual meetings will be held every other Tuesday at 9am ET; see meeting link below. \nParticipation:\nThere are many tasks within the charter and goal of this Working Group that must be filled\, many that do not require specific QIF expertise. Even those who may not be QIF Subject Matter Experts can contribute thoughts and ideas focused on the success and logistics of the program. Attendees of the 2024 event will automatically be notified. \nThe Summits provide a platform for participants to discuss challenges\, implementation issues\, and lessons learned related to design\, manufacturing\, quality assurance\, and sustainment of products and processes when a Model-Based Enterprise (MBE) approach is used. \nThe National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Smart Connected Systems Division organizes technical content for the MBE Summit\, and the Digital Metrology Standards Consortium (DMSC) organizes technical content for the QIF Summit. The DMSC is a member-funded\, non-profit organization focused on developing and supporting interoperability standards and quality data frameworks for digital metrology in manufacturing. The DMSC’s Quality Information Framework (QIF) standard is at the heart of its mission of interoperability and providing traceability of quality data.
