SUMMARY:QIF Tech Series Coffee Chat
DESCRIPTION:April 27\, 2021 @ 11am ET\nWhat is QIF: Where did it come from and where is it heading?\nPresented by Jennifer Herron (CEO\, Action Engineering)\nRecorded Presentation: watch now\n\nJennifer Herron\, DMSC BoD\, presents What is QIF 3.0\, an ANSI and ISO-approved standard enabling interoperability between Model-Based Definition (MBD)\, the digital intent\, and 3D metrology inspection process measured results. \nOn November 9th\, 2018\, the ISO / TC 184 / SC 4 meeting in Chicago\, Illinois (USA)\, approved by “Unanimous Consent” and was sent to Resolution M – Submission of Quality Information Framework (QIF) for Fast Track Ballot. In July 2020\, ISO approved and entirely harvested the ANSI/DMSC QIF v3.0 standard\, changing only the cover-sheet\, copyright\, headers\, and footers. The ISO ballot includes an Explanatory report for harvesting QIF 3.0 into the ISO TC184 / SC4 Working Group 15 on Digital Manufacturing. It includes a mapping of entities found between STEP-AP 242 and QIF. The QIF website provides a free download of the schema and normative document. Access the QIF Community for a QIF schema browser\, QIF sample instance files\, QIF source code bindings\, QIF “Issues” list\, and getting started video. Finally\, you can contact the DMSC with your questions at info@qifstandards.org. \n\nJennifer Herron is the CEO of Action Engineering\, a registered Women-Owned Small Business specializing in guiding organizations through their transformation into a Model-Based Enterprise (MBE) using Model-Based Definition (MBD). She serves on the Digital Metrology Standards Consortium (DMSC) Board of Directors\, which maintains the QIF and DMIS standards. \nRecorded Presentation: watch now\n\nThe Digital Metrology Standards Consortium (DMSC) member QIF End Users & Solution Providers present QIF Tech Series topics monthly through November 2021. \nThe webinar series will focus on QIF-centric topics and related subjects such as GD&T and MBE. The 20-30 minute presentations may be introductory level or more advanced content\, and are intended to educate a broad variety of QIF implementers or future users. There will be a 15 minute Q & A session after each of the presentations. \nWebinar technical content is provided by both QIF End Users and QIF Solution Providers with the goal of sharing real-life QIF or related implementations by advanced manufacturing operations. \nClick Here for all QIF Tech Series Coffee Chats scheduled for 2021.\n
