Following the success of the 2021 QIF Tech Series Coffee Chats, 2022 delivers another opportunity to evangelize the QIF message and showcase your integration experience.

The QIF Tech Series Coffee Chat program is a free, once-a-month webinar session focused on QIF-centric presentations by Solution Providers (SP) and QIF Users. SPs may promote their company product or service offerings and while this is a marketing opportunity, the intention is to keep these presentations informational rather than overly marketing oriented.

This is a no-charge promotional opportunity available to DMSC member Solution Providers and QIF Users.

QIF Users are also encouraged to share their Quality Information Framework (QIF) implementation experiences with DMSC members and other interested parties. This is an opportunity to show your company’s leadership in the area of QIF implementation and success. You can enhance your reputation as a QIF Subject Matter Expert (SME) by sharing your expertise with other QIF-interested professionals.

Additionally, these sessions are intended to inform the QIF community about QIF tools and resources specifically offered to DMSC members. As an example, the February 22nd Coffee Chat session (by Daniel Campbell from Capvidia and Sam Gambrell from Lockheed Martin) will be a discussion explaining the availability of materials such as DMSC Open Source Tools: QIF Rules Editor, QIF Resources Editor, QIF Data Quality Checker.

Coffee Chat sessions typically run 30-45 minutes with highly engaging Q & A afterwards. Each QIF Tech Series Coffee Chat is recorded and all registrants are provided a link for viewing the session at a later date – viewing metrics indicate high engagement of these video recordings. A list of registrants and the recorded session is available to the presenters upon request.

The 2021 Coffee Chat webinars have had as many as 150 registrants for a session. Our YouTube Channel library of recorded presentations extends the life of this valuable content, gaining thousands of views.

Currently, the 2022 Coffee Chat schedule has openings April – November. Reserve your session date now! Please contact DMSC Executive Director, Mark Thomas with your topic idea today: mark.thomas@qifstandards.org

Starting in April 2021, the DMSC kicks off the QIF Tech Series. This will be a series of “Coffee Chat” webinars intended to inform and educate the Quality/Metrology community about Quality Information Framework (“QIF”) implementations and best practices.

End-users and Solution Providers (SP) are invited to present their perspectives on QIF topics in a relaxed, non-competitive webinar venue. Each “Coffee Chat” will be a 20-30 minute presentation, followed by 15 minutes for questions and answers.

End-Users are encouraged to share their experiences on the “QIF Journey” with real-world stories and insight as to the future of what is needed for QIF to continue its progress as a mainstream strategy.

Solution Providers can introduce themselves, discuss technical solutions and share how their offerings have become key components in the QIF implementations by End-Users. Sessions by the SPs are intended to be solution-focused, and will undoubtedly be an opportunity to acquaint the QIF community with what solutions are available and who can provide them.

The DMSC’s “Coffee Chat” sessions will be offered monthly (at a minimum) throughout the summer/fall.

Topics of interest:

• What is QIF: Where did it come from, and where is it heading?
• QIF End-User Implementation Success Story
• Model-Based Definition (MBD) & QIF topics
• GD&T topics & QIF
• How Metrology Standards Benefit Advanced Manufacturing Companies
• End Users and Solution Providers are encouraged to add other topics that may be of value

DMSC Member End-Users and Solution Providers are requested to submit QIF-centric topics they would like to discuss with the DMSC Quality/Metrology community. Several sessions have been scheduled for the upcoming months. We encourage you to develop your presentation concept and submit it soon for consideration; June is the next available slot on our schedule.

DMSC Members are invited to submit their presentation title & abstract to DMSC Executive Director Mark Thomas as soon as possible: mark.thomas@qifstandards.org
