Dimensional Measuring Interface Standard (DMIS) is an internationally recognized standard carrying ISO 22093:2011 status, and is one of the most widely used standards related to dimensional metrology in the world. This standard has contributed to significant improvement of interoperability between CMMs, and traceability of measurement processes. The Digital Metrology Standards Consortium is responsible for the maintenance and updates of this standard.
The most recent version of the DMIS Standard, Version 5.3, has been approved by ANSI. It was last reviewed and confirmed by ISO in 2022; this version remains current. Therefore, the price of all previous versions of DMIS have been reduced, some versions by more than $100. The Digitial Metrology Standards Consortium (DMSC™, Inc.) mission is to identify needed standards in the field of digital and dimensional metrology, to promote, foster, and encourage the development and interoperability of these standards, along with related and supporting standards that will benefit the industry as a whole.
The Dimensional Measuring Interface Standard (DMIS | ISO 22093:2011) and the Quality Information Framework (QIF | ISO 23952:2020) are two such standards that the consortium has the responsibility for continued development, maintenance and support as well as to coordinate and collaborate with other related standards efforts.
The DMSC™ is an ANSI Accredited Standards Developing Organization, as well as an A-Liaison to ISO. The consortium invites participation within the consortium of other standards groups and activities that seek to resolve technological and other issues of automated (digital) metrology.
The Digital Metrology Standards Consortium (DMSC) maintains all elements of this website in order to facilitate dissemination of developments by the DMSC and its Standards Committees, and may include actual approved standards, reports, technical papers, and specifications.
