The Manufacturing x Digital (MxD) in Chicago hosted the 2024 MBE/QIF Summit which was jointly organized by NIST and DMSC. The event was attended by nearly 200 individuals and featured over 30 technical sessions along with a factory automation tour at the MxD facility.
The MBE Summit was held on Tuesday and Wednesday, featuring presentations on Model-Based Enterprise (MBE) applications, user case studies, and panel discussions.
The QIF Summit was held on Thursday and Friday morning and included technical sessions, case studies, round table discussions, status updates for QIF 4.0 that included timelines. There was also a high audience participation session to develop a roadmap for future DMSC standards, enhancements, and activities.
During the event, KOTEM, a Quality Vision International company and DMSC Solution Provider, announced the availability of a free QIF Viewer, and Siemens NX software announced the addition of product characteristics enhancing its QIF compatibility.
Attendees were provided with opportunities to learn more about MBE/QIF-centric applications regardless of their prior knowledge along with breaks, lunches, and multiple after-hours receptions offering a variety of delectable snacks and hors d’oeuvres.
