Abstract

QIF will be a crucial brace to absorb the blow of the labor shortage. We’ll review the demographic stats and show why the cresting wave of retirements will hit Inspection Departments hardest. We’ll show some examples of how QIF helps by enabling critical tasks to be automated and to manufacture faster, better, cheaper. And we’ll look at a couple of ongoing QIF implementations to extract valuable lessons learned.

Geoff Foulds is Origin’s Director of Global Business Development. His experience spans styling, engineering, production and inspection in terms of workflow analysis and optimization. Origin is an active contributor to the ongoing development of QIF. Origin is the leading developer of model based enterprise enabled metrology solutions for the Solidworks community.

The webinar series will focus on QIF-centric topics and related subjects such as GD&T and MBE. The 20-30 minute presentations may be introductory level or more advanced content, and are intended to educate a broad variety of QIF implementers or future users. There will be a 15 minute Q & A session after each of the presentations.

Webinar technical content is provided by both QIF End Users and QIF Solution Providers with the goal of sharing real-life QIF or related implementations by advanced manufacturing operations.
