DMSC member Tom Kramer has been named the 2025 recipient of PDES’s Brian K. Martin Technical Excellence Award. Kramer has been an active member of their Persistent Identifier Vendor and User sub-teams and has supported additional data review efforts for other PDES projects.
Widely respected for his expertise in Quality, Universally Unique Identifiers (UUIDs), and Persistent Identifiers (PIDs), Tom has played a key role in shaping user stories for PDES’s PID project, with a focus on Quality Manager requirements. His leadership and technical insight have also contributed to major industry publications, including NIST AMS 300-12: Research Results and Recommendations for Universally Unique Identifiers in Product Data Standards, where he served as a domain expert reviewer.
